Tour Overview

Kikuletwa Hot Spring (also known as Chemka Hot Spring) is a natural oasis located approximately40 kilometers from Moshi. This hidden gem features crystal-clear, warm turquoise water that stays at a pleasant temperature year-round, making it perfect for swimming and relaxation.

The hot spring is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation, including palm trees and fig trees, creating a paradise-like atmosphere. The water emerges from underground geothermal sources, maintaining a comfortable temperature of around27-30 degrees Celsius.

The day trip includes a scenic drive through the Tanzanian countryside, passing through local villages and farmland. Once at the spring, you can swim in the refreshing waters, relax on the banks, and enjoy a picnic lunch in this tranquil setting. It is an ideal escape from the heat and bustle of Moshi.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to do this safari?

The best time for safaris in Tanzania is during the dry season from June to October, when animals gather around water sources and vegetation is sparse for easier viewing. January to February is also excellent, especially for calving season in the Serengeti. However, safaris can be enjoyed year-round, with the green season (November to May) offering lush landscapes and fewer crowds.

What should I pack for this safari?

Essential items include: neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, beige), comfortable walking shoes, a wide-brimmed hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, binoculars, a camera with zoom lens, and a light jacket for early morning game drives. We recommend layering as temperatures can vary throughout the day. Avoid bright colors and dark blue/black (which can attract tsetse flies). We provide binoculars and field guides on every safari.

Are safaris safe?

Yes, safaris with Kili Altitude Adventures are very safe. All our safaris are led by certified, experienced guides who follow strict wildlife viewing protocols. Our vehicles are well-maintained and equipped with radio communication. We maintain a safe distance from all wildlife and never leave the vehicle during game drives unless in designated areas. Your safety is our top priority.

What is included in the safari package?

Our safari packages typically include: park entrance fees, professional English-speaking guide, 4x4 safari vehicle with pop-up roof, all meals during the safari, accommodation as specified, drinking water, and airport transfers. International flights, visa fees, travel insurance, tips, and personal expenses are usually excluded. Specific inclusions vary by package — please check the detailed itinerary above.

Can I customize this safari?

Absolutely! Every safari can be tailored to your preferences. Whether you want to add extra days, combine multiple parks, include a beach extension to Zanzibar, adjust the accommodation level, or create a completely bespoke itinerary — we're here to help. "An unforgettable experience!"

My daughter and I enjoyed a safari at Tarangire and Ngorongoro. It was a very satisfying trip because the guide showed us a lot of animals and took enough time for photos. The whole team was professional and made us feel safe throughout.
